![]() Suppose Microsoft has enough subscribers to make money back then great as far as other games like the new Fallout title or elusive Starfield go, which is currently unsure. Xbox relies on Game Pass instead of physical game sales. With that said, $7.5 billion is a lot of money to push back on game sales, also. While this is not confirmation that the upcoming The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield won't release on PS5, it sure sounds like Phil is thinking about the possibility of making them an Xbox ecosystem exclusive. Also how Playstation has never been the best place to play Bethesda games. Morrowind was never on Playstation, Oblivion was a year exclusive, and Skyrim's dlc were exclusive. Even if the Elder Scrolls 6 is not a PC and Xbox Series X exclusive, the fact that it will mostly be on Xbox Game Pass is a game-changer, as PS5 owners will have to buy the game at full price. For Elder Scrolls people don't realize that their games have either been or had some degree of exclusivity to PC and Xbox. "Just like they took the bold first steps to bring The Elder Scrolls franchise to original Xbox, Bethesda was the early supporters of Xbox Game Pass, bringing their games to brand new audiences across devices and have been actively investing in the new gaming technology like cloud streaming of games," Phil Spencer said in the announcement. Microsoft confirmed that the games from Bethesda's entire catalogue would become a part of Xbox Game Pass, which means members will not have even to purchase upcoming games like Enroll Scrolls 6. That company owns Bethesda Game Works, and both id Software and Arkane Studios. Previously reported, Microsoft did not just buy Elder Scrolls 6, it purchased ZeniMax Media, which is the parent company of Bethesda Softworks. PlayStation devotees lamented what appeared to be the loss of some of the best series on their console of choice, but there was a glimmer of hope rekindled when Bethesda producer Todd Howard stated in an interview that it was hard to imagine Elder Scrolls VI as Xbox-exclusive. It was a straw, but fans of the series not willing to shell out for another pricy current-gen console eagerly grasped it.While this is not confirmation that the upcoming The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield won't release on PS5, it sure sounds like Phil is thinking about the possibility of making them an Xbox ecosystem exclusive. When Microsoft bought ZeniMax Media and Bethesda back in September, it gained an edge in the ongoing console war with Sony by taking exclusive ownership of some of gaming's most popular and profitable franchises: most notably DOOM, Fallout, and The Elder Scrolls. While it is more of a hint than an announcement, it's a good indicator that the popular Bethesda title might not be as beholden to Microsoft's consoles as was originally thought. It looks like The Elder Scrolls VImight not be Xbox-exclusive after all, possibly making its way to the PlayStation 5 at some point in the future after PlayStation's official blog teases The Elder Scrolls VI as an anticipated title on it's platform(s).
